- Battle of Minas Tirith: one of the largest and most significant battles in the series takes place in Minas Tirith, where human troops are faced with the devastating army of Sauron.
- The final conflict: Frodo and Sam finally reached the mountain of death. At the crucial moment, Frodo shows weakness and wants to keep the ring, but Gollum intervenes and fights Frodo, causing Gollum and the ring to fall into the lava.
