The plot follows Bob Lee Swagger, a former U.S. Marine sniper who is recruited by former FBI agent Jack Payne to catch a sniper threatening to kill the president. However, swagger soon finds out that he was hired to accuse him of the crime, and finds himself hunted by law enforcement agencies.
With the help of his only friend, Donnie Finn, swagger begins to unravel the conspiracy that set him up, seeking revenge on those who betrayed him.
